Center Parc Bois aux daims
Center Parc Le Bois aux Daims, just 1 hour's drive from your Slow Village campsite in Angers, is the perfect place for a family day out.

The Doué-La-Fontaine Biopark, just 30 minutes from our Angers campsite, is unique in more ways than one. More than just an animal park, the design of this living space truly immerses visitors in the natural environment of the species they encounter.
The first special feature is its 17-hectare site in the heart of falun quarries, an aggregate of shells, sand and clay dating back to the Paleolithic period, when the sea was present in Anjou.
These quarries of very soft rock have enabled the natural décor to be adapted to the needs of the various animals, with islands, waterfalls and plant formations decorating the large areas reserved for each species. In this way, you change continents as you pass through troglodytic passages carved into the rock, benefiting from natural air-conditioning.
On the other hand, its designers wanted to share their passion for the world and their knowledge of wilderness areas by taking visitors on a real journey. Here, we move forward like explorers through atmospheres that surprise and excite.
The Bioparc team gives pride of place to animals whose species are endangered, while working with animal protection associations in their countries of origin. The quality of the animals and the quality of the information provided are designed to make us aware of the respect that man owes to nature. No training is used! A must-see during your Slow Village vacation!
The Biopark 's main attraction, and the reason to visit, is of course the animals you see.
Whether they come from Africa, South America, the Indian Ocean, Asia or Europe, there are almost 130 species belonging to the three major families of mammals, birds and reptiles, for a total of over 1900 animals spread over XXL spaces!
Mammals include giraffes, rhinoceroses, spectacled bears, maned wolves, lions, cheetahs, pygmy hippos, gibbons...
A concert ofbirdsong awaits you in the park's various aviaries. In the Great South American Aviary, parrots, flamingos, gulls, ducks, savacou and ibises will transport you to an Andean canyon. In the African Aviary, you'll be amazed by the sounds created by gendarme weavers, hoopoes, vulturine guinea fowl, turtle doves and other birds.
In the vivarium, you'll meet 3 species of reptile: the broad-fronted crocodile, the royal python and the impressive green anaconda. Five species of tortoise (Hermann's tortoise, Seychelles giant tortoise, leopard tortoise, radiated tortoise and ridged tortoise) can be seen in different parts of the zoo.
Of the species represented at the Bioparc, 30% are listed as "endangered" on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.
The most threatened species include the Mhorr gazelle, the Central African giraffe, the pinched tamarin (a small monkey), the Sumatran tiger, the rufous lemur, the black rhinoceros, the radiated tortoise and the Lafresnaye macaw.
To visit this unique troglodytic zoo, prices range from €21 to €27 per person, depending on age and chosen visit period.
An annual subscription is also available, entitling you to discounts in stores and catering outlets.
