A large lake in the Landes region, Lake Cazaux and Sanguinet is located in northern Landes, less than 20 kilometers from the Arcachon basin.

The freshwater lake straddles the territories of the municipalities of Sanguinet to the east, La Teste-de-Buch to the west, Cazaux to the north, and Biscarrosse to the south. The lake, also known as the "Étang de Sanguinet," is connected toLake Biscarrosse-Parentis, located just below, by the Landes coastal canal. Between the two large lakes lies the small Biscarrosse pond.

Lake Cazaux and Sanguinet is located in the heart of the Landes forest, and its western shores are just 2.5 miles from the ocean.
