How to get to Lac de Maine

 

Close to the Slow Village outdoor hotel, the Lac de Maine leisure center is located at 49 Avenue du Lac de Maine in Angers.

From Les Ponts-de-Cé, you can get there by car in 15 to 20 minutes by heading up the D523 road that runs alongside the Maine River and then crossing the river via the first bridge to reach the large parking lot at Lac du Maine.

By bike, we will also head north, but avoiding the main roads: we will cross the Maine River via the next bridge, located opposite the Château d'Angers, which will give us the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant 30-minute stroll to discover the city's heritage.

From the center of Angers, Lac de Maine is easily accessible on foot or by bike through the pleasant Balzac Park. From the castle, it takes less than 10 minutes by bike and 30 minutes on foot.

The Lac de Maine recreation parkcovers 220 hectares.

It consists of a range of facilities that allow everyone to enjoy the lake environment, its natural setting, and the many outdoor activities it offers. Picnic areas, a beach, water sports, hiking trails, and bike paths await you on site.

The Lac de Maine leisure park is an ideal place for families: the entire site is designed and secured forfamilies with children, and the wide range of activities on offer is suitable for all ages. Swimming is supervised, and the calm waters of the lake are reassuring for parents of young children.

Playgrounds and picnic areas are available so you can spend the whole day on site.

  • Cycling: Lac de Maine is on the Loire cycle route. The site is therefore bordered by pleasant greenways that you can follow for the distance of your choice.
  • Picnics and outdoor meals: the base has picnic tables, as well as large expanses of grass.
