Our commitment to sustainable tourism

For tourism that takes full account of its economic, social and environmental impacts.

We are committed to paying particular attention to reducing the use of natural resources and reducing pressure on biodiversity.

To meet this challenge, Slow Village is committed to 5 major themes :

☘️ Nature, the star of your vacation

☘️ The label, for vacations that make sense

☘️ Nature and local activities, discovering and raising awareness of the environment

☘️ Accommodation, a unique and responsible experience

☘️ Catering, an invitation to discover healthy, local products

What is the European Ecolabel?

The European Ecolabel is a certification recognized in all member countries of the European Union.

It aims to design and promote products (goods and services) that respect the environment and human health throughout their life cycle.

This certification is issued by a third-party organization (AFNOR CERTIFICATION).

The benchmark is made up of 67 criteria, which are themselves sorted into broad categories: general management, water, energy, waste and other services. The aim of each criterion is to propose positive alternatives for the environment and/or society.

And in concrete terms ?

Here are some of our actions:

✅ 100% renewable electricity supply

✅ Installation of low-energy light bulbs on all our sites

✅ Use of alternative cleaning products (white vinegar, baking soda) or eco-labelled products (European Ecolabel, Nordic Swan)

✅ Elimination of single-use products in on-site catering

✅ Recycling our used oils and greases into biofuel

✅ 50% organic and/or local bar and restaurant menu

✅ Water-saving faucets and showerheads

✅ Precise tracking of our energy consumption in kWh/night

✅ Installation of connected sensors on our water meters for early leak detection

✅ Installation of a shared composter at all sites

✅ Commitment to our responsible purchasing charter

✅ Waste and bio-waste sorting system in all rental units

✅ Use of recyclable crockery for takeaways

✅ Eco-responsible and useful welcome kit

✅ No systematic linen changes to save water
