Parc du Bournat: immerse yourself in a Périgord village in 1900

In the heart of the Périgord Noir region, Parc du Bournat and Slow Village invite you to step back in time in a lively 1900s village. Located in Le Bugue, just 15 minutes from our open-air hotel in Séveilles, this unique leisure center combines traditions, crafts, retro funfair and generous nature.

A must-do outing for families, couples or friends, to discover the region's cultural and human riches in a whole new way.

What is Parc du Bournat?

Imagine a place where time has stood still, where you can relive the gestures, sounds and flavors of an early XXᵉ century village. Much more than a simple family outing, Parc du Bournat offers total immersion in the life of yesteryear, at the peaceful pace of 1900. Between traditions, ancient games and living crafts, it promises a journey as exotic as it is enriching in the heart of the Dordogne.

A unique themed leisure center in the heart of Périgord

Located in Le Bugue, Dordogne, in the heart of the Vézère valley, Parc du Bournat is a real time machine, imagined by a heritage enthusiast. Set in 8 hectares of natural surroundings, this reconstructed village invites young and old alike to experience a day in the life of 1900. In fact, everything evokes the gentle way of life of yesteryear: the old-fashioned funfair, century-old merry-go-rounds, forgotten crafts, boat or carriage rides...

A living reconstruction of a village in 1900

The Parc du Bournat brings to life the village of yesteryear in every detail. From the moment they enter, visitors are struck by the smells of warm bread, handmade soap and freshly crushed walnuts.

In the narrow streets lined with traditional houses, the schoolhouse of yesteryear, the dwelling house, or the blacksmith's workshop plunge everyone back into theauthentic atmosphere of the early XXᵉ century. The tinkling of the anvil, the laughter around old-fashioned games, the 1900 Ferris Wheel spinning gently under the Perigordian sky... The entire estate offers a unique sensory experience.

Period crafts, costumes and traditions

At Parc du Bournat, ancestral know-how comes to life before your very eyes. Blacksmiths, bakers, wood turners, weavers... Craftsmen work as they did in 1900, with precise gestures and an infectious passion. The leisure center also houses a large collection of antiques, including vintage toys, craftsmen's tools, horse-drawn carriages, furniture and farm machinery that bear witness to daily life in days gone by. In the mini-farm, young and old alike can meet donkeys, sheep, ducks, chickens and peacocks, which roam freely between streams and meadows. Between demonstrations of forgotten trades and animal discoveries, the visit becomes a real educational and entertaining adventure.
